7 Days/6 Night Golden Triangle Tour India - At New Delhi, the World Heritage City

24th July, Sunday
Woke up early morning @ 5.30 a.m. to have solat subuh, have asked the local hotel workers what time was sun rise up early morning....oooo... I brought compas along to make sure the kiblat...After finished just want to have a look outside the hotel, lift up the curtain window....wow..wow.. it was a shining day like at 9 in the morning in Msia!! Not so many people on the road actually, the morning was just started at New Delhi, it just at 5.30 a.m. still early morning in India.

After a leisurely breakfast, as fixed at 9.30 a.m. the tourist guide & his assistant came to the hotel to fetch us for sightseing tour in Delhi old town where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British Empire.  Visit the 11th century Qutub Minar, India Gate, President's house, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Raj Ghat, Humanyu Tomb, Red Fort & Jama Masjid, the largest & also the grandest mosque in India....

Lets checkout what India was about.

Delhi is the capital city of India and an ancient city steeped in history. Delhi brings to mind a kaeidoscope of contrasting images which transport you back and forth in time. The history of Delhi is the history of its seven medieval cities. No other city in India can boast of such an ancient, turbulent & heterogeneous history as perharps Delhi. A study of the last 3,000 years reveals the rise & fall of many great empires here. Here are the pictures.....

View of the Jama Masjid, the largest & also the grandest mosque in India. Jama Masjid can accommodated more than 20,000 worhsippers at a time during festivals.

The Calm & Peaceful Raj Ghat is the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation & a staunch believer of non-violence.

The Indian Gate or the All India War Memorial is an arch commemorating the soldiers who died in World War 1.  An eternal flame dedicated to the unknown soldier burns underneath the arch.

Being in town as in New Delhi for me as a foreigner & tourist was a little bit odd but very interesting experience in my life. You would hear everywhere the horns along the busy road, the kids or the lady approach you with asking some little food & money or doing business on the centre of the road.....
